Well hello everyone! How are you all doing? Send me an email I would love to hear from you all!  Well this week went pretty well. Missionary work is such a Rollercoaster all the time. We have such highs and lows! It's crazy! With people we're teaching, with members, with missionaries, etc.  Last Monday we went on a hike as a district in Pismo Beach. Pismo is such a beach town! It's pretty cool! There is a great view of the ocean and everyone looks like a surfer bro. Pismo is what you think of when you think of "California". The hike was cool and we went to this place called Hogies for lunch.  We are teaching a guy named Margarito. Margarito does not speak Spanish very well. He speaks Mixteco Bajo. This week we started getting Eloy to help us with visits. Because Eloy speaks Mixteco Bajo as well. We can't meet at Margaritos house because he said there are 12 couples living in his row home. And he can't drive anywhere else. And we can't drive him because...

Hello everyone, how are you all doing?!  Well this has been a long week.  I'll start with the big scare at the beginning of the week. We were walking on the sidewalk one night. Elder Burkhart thought these truck tires were cool, so he went over to the truck in the driveway. Three big dudes came running out of the house. I was like ah oh. They thought he was trying to break in. Luckily Elder Burkhart just explained that he thought the truck looked cool and it was all good.  We had Zone conference on Tuesday. That went well! Zone conference is always great! I love listening to president Carter! My two last companions who are now companions were at the zone conference. So I got to see them.  Well we we went to a members house te other day to print the programs for the baptizm, Well we got to the members house and she showed us her new printer. We asked if it was hooked up to a computer or a phone or something. She's like nope. We'll so we tried to get it set up to her o...

Matchmakers And Mixteco

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? Send me an email, I would love to hear!  Well we had another good week here in Santa Maria California!  So your probably like "matchmaking, what are you doing out there?" Well, Eloy and Maria are making progress! Well let's start with last week. I was talking to my mom about this. Well long story short, she found an application online to get a Marriage license. She filled it out online and emailed it to me. Well then we went and printed it off at a members house. We gave the application to Eloy and Maria and then made a plan to go to the county office on Wednesday. So Elder Burkhart and I went with Eloy and Maria on Wednesday to the county office to buy a license. Long story and long time at the office short, they were able to buy a license and get married! We took Eloy and Maria to Chick-fil-a for dinner to celebrate. (They had never been, crazy right!). While we were eating we talked a lot about Mixteco and other dialects in Mexico...

ENT "I'm Dynamite... ENT And I'll Win This Fight"

Hey all my lovely friends and family! I hope you are all doing well!  Well the title is brought to you by ACDC. There is a song by ACDC called TNT. Go listen to it, it's really good! But ya these are some lyrics to it but obviously the song says TNT because that's the name of the song. I just replaced it with ENT because I had an appointment with the ENT the other day. Pretty clever huh?! Now you can go listen to TNT by ACDC and always remember me.  Well I just talked to you all on Wednesday, so not a ton has happened since then. We had exchanges with the zone leaders. That was good! That's also the day I had my ENT appointment, so Elder Nodeshe (the ZL I was with for the day) Got to wait in the waiting room while I went and did a hearing test (it was like a blast from the past) and stuff. This appointment was regarding my ear that has been ringing for like 3 and a half months. The ENT is a member so he's cool. He said there are a few different problems. And they don...

Weirdest Week And A Half Of My Life!!!

Image
Well hello everyone!! I hope you are all doing well!! I'm writing this at a Mexican embassy in Oxnard. You're probably like "What did you do"?! Well it's not all my fault. Let's start from the beginning. So on Tuesday last week, I drove with another Elder down to Oxnard (2 hours). We had to get his bike so we were late :/ we had a meeting there with all the greenies and President and his wife and all the departing missionaries. Then all of us trainers got our greenies. I'm training an Elder named Elder Burkhart. He's from North Carolina. So after the meeting we headed back up to good ol Santa Maria. We had interviews with President on Friday! Those are always awesome! We also went to the food bank and had sports night!  I turned 20 on Saturday. That's a little weird! 20 sounds kinda old. I don't feel it. That morning my comp and I went to this Cafe right by our apartment for breakfast. I got some HUGE pancakes!! They were good! Our district san...
