Weirdest Week And A Half Of My Life!!!

Well hello everyone!! I hope you are all doing well!!

I'm writing this at a Mexican embassy in Oxnard. You're probably like "What did you do"?! Well it's not all my fault. Let's start from the beginning.

So on Tuesday last week, I drove with another Elder down to Oxnard (2 hours). We had to get his bike so we were late :/ we had a meeting there with all the greenies and President and his wife and all the departing missionaries. Then all of us trainers got our greenies. I'm training an Elder named Elder Burkhart. He's from North Carolina. So after the meeting we headed back up to good ol Santa Maria.

We had interviews with President on Friday! Those are always awesome! We also went to the food bank and had sports night!

I turned 20 on Saturday. That's a little weird! 20 sounds kinda old. I don't feel it. That morning my comp and I went to this Cafe right by our apartment for breakfast. I got some HUGE pancakes!! They were good! Our district sang to me at district council. A member had us over for dinner and gave us! It was good!! We had Stake conference and a couple people there said happy birthday as well. That night after work, Elder Burkhart and I had a piece of food bank cake in our apartment and I opened the box my parents sent me. I also got some emails from friends and family wishing me a happy birthday. Thank you all so so much!

Well Sunday was day 2 of Stake conference. It was really good! Honestly it was kinda nice to have church in English for a change.

Here's where things get strange. So like 2 or so weeks ago, my mom helped me finally get a visit with the Oxnard embassy for Eloy and Maria. So we were coming up on it. So we asked a member like a week or so ago. Longer story shorter he agreed to give Eloy and Maria a ride to Oxnard because us missionaries are not allowed to give rides to anyone except other missionaries. The member asked if we could come with him and Eloy and Maria. So we had to get president's permission. He said yes but we would need to switch our p day to that day (today). So Monday was just a normal day for us. So today (p day) has been a lot of driving and waiting at the embassy. After we were done, Eloy and Maria bought us McDonald's. I don't eat there much but it was good. Right now we are in the car headed home. Basically, now we need to get Eloy and Maria married. Now that they have IDs all they need is some health form. Our branch president is a doctor so we'll ask him about that.

So this week we did get a lot of rejection in the streets talking to people. You just gotta talk to everyone because they are out there. We talked to one guy and his siblings. He said they just got here from Mexico a month ago. He said he's interested in coming and learning about our church. So we set up a visit with him and he's coming to sports night!

So this morning we had district exercise and then showered and met the member at Eloys house. Then we all left for Oxnard and we are driving home as we speak (as you read).

Imagine your first week of the Mission going like this. Well that's my greenie.

Well I love you all and miss you all mucho!

Thanks again for the birthday wishes (emails/cards)! They fill me up!
