Make It A Great Day

Image
I don't know who put time on overdrive, but they are good, time has gone FAST! Ok ya, I admit some days and some classes feel like they will never end, but looking back it's a lil ridiculous sometimes. Today marks 4 weeks of online MTC. WOW right like I'm actually gunna leave soon! Anyway, I feel like I have come a long way from where I started, I haven't actually gone anywhere yet I'm still living in my parent's basement, but you know what I mean. I feel more confident with my EspaƄol, and with my knowledge of the gospel and how I can put them together to teach. Now don't get me wrong I know there is much more to learn, but I really do feel better about what I know and my ability to understand and speak the language, and of course the gospel in my life has grown A LOT! So I went on a hike to Stewart Falls yesterday with my parents and my wonderful amazing cousin Yzabel! It was fun! A few people on the trail recognized my missionary tag so that was coo...

Which Prophet Was The First To Go Through The MTC?

Another day another nickel.  So this week kinda flew.  Spanish is still tough, but I do feel more confident with it. I talk pretty much every night with our Chilean friend Mario and I even can translate sometimes for my mom. And he says I'm doin just fine. Anyway, Elder Burton and I have taught probably 5 lessons since last p-day in Spanish. Those are going well and I'm actually starting to like them.  On Sunday our stake president invited all of the missionaries in the stake over for some thoughts, questions, and browniecake/homemade ice cream. It was great! I'll attach a pic of us. My best bud Elder Max Osmand left for Kansas thismorning. I am so proud of him, he is going to be an amazing missionary! He and I have been best friends for a long time. He's always been there for me. I love him like a brother, and I couldn't be more proud of him! I cant wait to see him in 2! I'll attach a pic of us from last night.  So, I like writing my email later ...

Another Week Bites The Dust

Thank you all for your emails! Mission stuff: So this week was better than last week. It is getting better and better as we get closer as a district and our teachers get to know us better because they have loosened up a bit. Like they like do some fun random things during class which I will attach some pics of. One of our teachers threw a curveball at us the other day and is like yo guys I'm going on a week vacation (without you haha). So he told us we were having a sub for one day and then the rest of the week another teacher was covering for him. So the sub we had for just one day in his place was Hermano Astorga. Seriously like the funniest man alive! It was like a comedian teaching the class! I wanna briefly talk about him because he was amazing and we all loved him! He said "Be friendly, don't be a weird missionary" "we don't want you to be robot missionaries".  He was basically teaching us people skills. How to talk to people and b...

Week One

Image
Hola amigos, Week one of MTC done. So Let me tell you that the MTC is not easy! It has ups and downs. You have up days and down days. After day one I was a mess, but after making fun of all the dogs at my house and talking I felt better. They have been nice here at the MTC, they have done all they can to make me feel at home here. So Schedule wise I have classes with my district (in Spanish), classes with other missionaries at the MTC (English), personal study, language study, comp study, TRCs (practice teaching lessons to a pretend investigator(actor)) (not every day), tutoring (available to all MTC missionaries as much as they want and whatever times are available on the tutoring schedule).  There are only 5 missionaries in my district including me probably because we are the advanced Spanish speakers/classes (which can be tough). My companion's name is Elder Burton. He is really cool. He lives in Holladay, which is not too far from me so I went down to h...
