Another Week Bites The Dust

Thank you all for your emails!

Mission stuff: So this week was better than last week. It is getting better and better as we get closer as a district and our teachers get to know us better because they have loosened up a bit. Like they like do some fun random things during class which I will attach some pics of. One of our teachers threw a curveball at us the other day and is like yo guys I'm going on a week vacation (without you haha). So he told us we were having a sub for one day and then the rest of the week another teacher was covering for him. So the sub we had for just one day in his place was Hermano Astorga. Seriously like the funniest man alive! It was like a comedian teaching the class! I wanna briefly talk about him because he was amazing and we all loved him! He said "Be friendly, don't be a weird missionary" "we don't want you to be robot missionaries".  He was basically teaching us people skills. How to talk to people and be genuine, just be yourself you are just a person like those you are teaching. So he said "I don't know how much you guys have talked to each other but were practicing talking to people" He put us in breakout rooms with a missionary from the district to just talk just as us as normal people (in English). So I was talking with Elder Baxley and I found out he and Elder Jensen are both going to BYUI and Elder Baxley said it'll be an MTC reunion, which sounds awesome and inside I was beyond stocked! So that's definitely something to look forward to! Hermano Astorga said something that was really powerful and I think that we should all do this in our lives. "Have a prayer in your heart that you can see people as God sees them" I think that will make people a little easier especially for me as sometimes people drive me crazy. Yep, Hermano Astorga was THE BEST!

We have had one class with the week-long sub, and she is actually great too. she's way nice and wants to get to know us well so we talked a little about get to know you stuff, but also she said were gonna start doing show and tells, probably like the one we did with Hermana Barfuss. Hermana Barfuss Asked us to show something interesting or unusual we have in our house. I missed that instruction until after the break she gave us to grab something, so when it came to my turn to present I couldn't figure out the similarities between the other missionaries' items so I asked her what I was supposed to grab. She told me something interesting or unusual we have so quick thinking so I grabbed the mini Stretch Armstrong that I keep on my desk. When I showed it, They all thought it was SO FUNNY! So I think I won.

So lots of good stories.

I've been reading the scriptures in Spanish to our Chilean friend Mario who has been helping me with pronunciation. We read Moroni 10 yesterday and even though I could barely understand a couple of words it was powerful. Moroni 10 is a great chapter, go read it. (in Spanish haha)

This is already a long email so I just want to say be patient with yourself. That is a common thing I have heard this week. Be patient with studies, language, with others, whatever it may be in our lives, no one is perfect, we're all trying to be better.

God loves you so love Him and all those around you even if you can't understand them through their mask. Be patient and loving.

I'm doing well! Email me whenever I love hearing from all of you!
