Beware Of Pride, Food Bank Inferno!

Hello everyone! Hope that you all had a great week! This week wasn't anything to crazy but also kinda tough.

So we had this really awesome lesson with this couple we are teaching. Before we started teaching anything, we were talking about missionary work and how it's pretty tough. We talked about how there are so many prideful and hard hearted people who won't listen to us or just waste our time. We talked about how pride is the biggest problem in the world today. It's so true. Humility is the opposite of pride. I told them that humility was on of the attributes of Christ. He taught, healed, and ministered with humility. He really is our perfect example. There is a chapter in Preach My Gospel, chapter 6, that talks all about christ like attributes. I invite you all to read through it. It is really good! If you have a paper Preach My Gospel that works, you can also find it on the gospel library app.  There is also a talk called "Beware of Pride" that I'll link to this email for you to read or listen to.

We had exchanges with the district leader and his comp. Elder Kirk is our District leader right now. He and I had a lot of really cool deep conversations. We ended up talking about pride as well. Elder Kirk is the most humble missionary I have ever met! It's crazy! He is for sure the most mature elder as well! He amazes me! It was a really good exchange to say the least!

For like two days this week it was SSSOOOO HHHOOOTTT!!! So ya we were at the food bank, and I was out helping bring food to people's cars. I wasn't sure exactly what the tempature was, but it was Pretty un comfy! When we got in the car, the car said 90 - 95°.

So there is this kid named Erick that we ae teaching. We asked him if he would like to get baptized. He said yes. The problem is, he's 9. His dad is always working, and his mom is out of the picture (I have no idea where she is). We called his dad the other day to tell him what's going on. It's a little complicated, but ya know we don't want to baptize him if he can't stay active. Its a weird situation, but basicly we are waiting for his dad to get back to us. We do have a lesson with Erick this week, so pray all goes well, whatever that may be.

Finding new people to teach this week was really hard. We had a lot of lessons fall through. We did meet this random dude and his family out grilling on Mexican mothers day ( Happy Mother Day by the way). They gave us some Carne asada.

Sunday was rough. Almost none of our friends came to church. Just two watched on zoom. We did watch the youth devotional with President and Sister Nelson. So that was awesome!

We went on an awesome hike this morning in Pismo!

Thats about it.

Love you all!

Psalm 100:3
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
