The Rogue Missionary, Para Aquí Para Allá, La Pasqua!

What's up  everyone! I hope you are all doing well and that you all had an awesome Easter!

So our mission has been selling all of the Rav 4s and buying new Nissan Rogues. We actually got ours 2 weeks ago at MLC, but most of the missionaries got theirs this week at zone conference. There are things I like about the Rogue, but I also miss my Rav. When I got to the mission, it was Toyota Corollas, Ravs, and Tocomas. Now It's Chevrolet Equinox, Nissan Rogues, and Nissan Frontiers.

We had a lot of exchanges this week. They were fun! Exchanges are fun! I like to see how other Elders teach and contact.

So back last transfer, we were out street contacting and Elder Teichert points to a house and SAS we got bashed there. Well I wasn't really paying attention to which house it was. So The other day I had an exchange in my area with Elder Larsen. We went to that house. And low and behold, we got bashed. BASHERS are dumb. They have no idea what they are talking about. They are Pretty frustrating.

On my exchange with Elder Billings, we were walking by a high school. All these high schoolers came over to the fence and were all like "ya I love Jesus"! Elder Billings was passing out tons of pass along cards that have a picture of Jesus on them. I was talking to Elder Teichert about it later and he was telling me that at some schools they have started Jesus clubs. Probably only in California, but thats super cool!

On another one of my exchanges, we were walking around all morning. We talked to this guy through a fence. He was cool and invited us in. He told us to come around the fence to get into the RV park. So we did and went into his little RV. He was really cool. He seemed interested in what we had to say and who we were. At lunch time, we were kinda far from our car and Farish from home. So we decided to try this little hamburger place right where we were. It was average. But we did talk to a guy in the place and got his phone number.

In Santa Maria there are all of these Taco trucks that line this one big road. I had never actually been to one of these trucks. So on another exchange we tried one. It was Pretty good.
On one of my exchanges, we were walking on the street, and we walked by someone we were teaching. We went and knocked on his door. He was home. We asked if we could share a little message with him. He said yes, but better in his truck, because there were lots of people in the house. So we went to his truck parked in the driveway and just had a little lesson in his truck. The Elder I was with is an English Elder, so he was a little confused the whole time. So ya Latinos here just hang out in their cars a lot, because there are lots of people in the house because the rent is so expensive so there are a lot of people sharing the cost. So They go in their car to get some alone time. Every now and then, we'll see people just chilling in their car parked on the side of the road.

Last night, we had this 17 year old recent convert in our branch come do some street contacting and lessons with us for two hours. His name is Alex. He is really cool! He speaks Mixteco which is Awesome! He translated the introduction to the Book of Mormon for a guy we thaught. Alex is preparing to go on a mission.

This week I have been studying a lot about the Holy Week. It is very interesting! There are tons of videos and things to reac on Gospel library about it. It was really cool. And I definitely felt the spirit as I studied. Again I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ. Because He died and rose again, all of us will to rise again after we die. This life is not the end. We will be resurrected with perfect bodies. (Alma 7:11-12) (Alma 4o:23) We were actually talking about what we are excited for about a perfect resurrected body the other day on exchanges. I'm excited to eat whatever and how much I want.

Cool quotes:
"Salvation cannot come without revelation; it is in vain for anyone to minister without it” - Joseph Smith (PMG CH 4)

"Can the rising generation “straightaway [leave] their nets” (Matthew 4:20), or whatever holds them back, and follow the Lord by serving a mission? “Now I know you reverence God, because you have not withheld yourself from serving a mission.”           - Elder Adeyinka A. Ojediran
