PACHANGA!!
WHAT'S UP PARTY PEOPLE!!! So PACHANGA means party in Spanish, then you say "wait wait wait, what language have your been learning for a year and a half Elder Felsted? Fiesta means party in Spanish". That's true but apparently there is slang in Spanish too.
This is why this week was a PACHANGA.
1) We had transfers on Tuesday and I'm still here in Oxnard, but I got Elder Krenkel, he's a party. He's also a pilot.
2) This is my second transfer being a zone leader, so I still don't know what I'm doing, but I know better than last transfer.
3) Our ward had a new years eve party! Don't worry mom, we didn't stay tooooo late. It was way FUN! This awesome family we are teaching came. There is this 90 something year old lady in our ward named Mama Martha. She was just sitting on a chair on the side while we were all dancing. Elder Kirk told me to go get her. So it took a lot of convincing her. She said she had a problem with her knees. You know missionary me, I don't like the answer no. So I got her to come dance with us! It was great!
4) It rained A TON this week!
5) We had interviews this week.
6) Elder Krenkel and I went to two district councils. That means we had Subway two days in a row for lunch!
7) I read a cool talk by Elder Holland called "Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store". It was good! Go check it out!
8) I read some of the books Santa sent me for Christmas.
9) We had a really long FB training of a guy teaching us to use FB to share the gospel just the same way he runs/expands his business on FB. Everything he told us to do is exactly what we have been asked not to do on FB.
10) We finished Stake reports and lots of busy work.
11) We had a homeless, probably drunk guy begg us to buy him an ice cream. He's like "come on Elders, I know you Mormons". I was thinking, if you knew us you wouldn't call us Mormon.
12) Our sink flooded. We had to start bailing the water coming up for a bit. We called the apartment and luckily got it resolved.
13) We went on exchanges with Elder Marks and Murdock. I got to go to a white area. It was ok. I got to drive their RAV 4! It was awesome!
14) Last of all, covid is back. Like we had a zoom meeting with President Carter. He was telling us that covid is spiking again. So we are going back to a lot of the same restrictions from last year. Oh my word. Are you kidding me. This is 2022. This started a whole mission ago! This is ridiculous. I was in Moor Park a year ago. Here we go again. At least we are not like in quarantine or anything, we can still do all the same missionary work, we just can't do the same thing with other missionaries or sports night.. :(
15) I'm the oldest Spanish Elder in the mission now. LOCO!
That's about it this week.
I love and miss you all!!
Have a fantastic week!
