Forgiveness, Tacos, And One Year Away From Home

Hey what is going on everyone!?!? I hope you are all doing well!

Well let me tell you something. So I started the MTC on July 1st. But I didn't acually go anywhere other than downstairs to do online MTC. Well I came out to Cali on Aug 10th 2020. That means I've been in Cali for just over a year now. Kinda crazy!

So we had Zone conference on Tuesday. That was Awesome! I love Zone conference! It's kind of tiring some times but I love hearing from President and Sister Carter. Zone conference was up in San Luis Obispo so I got to see the ocean again on the drive up. They always provide lunch for us at Zone conference and it's always good!

So we had a good amount of member visits this week. This one stands out. She had told us before that she wanted to set up a visit with us while her husband was working. That last visit we had talked about love and shared John 15:12-13. She forgiveness was brought up. So fast forward to the visit this week with her. We talked about forgiveness and we tried to help her understand why she needs to forgive this one person even though the story she told us was hard and very sad. There is a really good video that the church made about forgiveness. I can link it at the end. I hope that all made sense. It's probably worded weirdly. Not Waterford Essay approved, but whatever.

OK so on Thursday, we decided to not use our car at all because the mission only gives us a certain amount of miles we can use for the month (I know annoying and kinda dumb huh). Well we were trying to catch up a little bit. So there's this Lady in our city named Shawna. Now I had never met her in person but Elder Sayre had. She and her friend have known missionaries for a long time. They knew all about us missionaries. They've been taught and served and seen missionaries walking around. So Shawna called us up last week and Invited us over for tacos. We'll Thursday was the day. So we walked over there. These tacos were SSSSSOOOOO GGGOOOODD!! Wow!! She's white too! Ya they were fire! Her friend Anna picked our brains a little bit. At first I thought she would get Bashy but it wasn't that bad. She really just had some questions about prayer and if God existed. She did swear a lot though.

Well Eloy and Maria are doing good. They came to church again. The thing is, the embassy in Oxnard won't answer the phone so they are going down to Oxnard in person this week to try and figure this out.

Transfers is in a week. I think I'm staying. I don't know for sure but I want to stay. I want to see Eloy and Maria finally get married and baptized. I've known them for 6 months now. We're pretty tight. I also have an ENT appointment in Santa Maria next transfer so that helps my cause.

There was a lot of up and down this week. A lot disappointments with investigators, comps, members etc. But we also had some fun stuff too. We had an Elders quorum BBQ with the branch. That was fun!

Anyway, I love and miss you all a ton!!
