Does Everyone In Your Church Wear Glasses?

Hey  everyone! I hope you have all had a splendid week! I sure did! Wow it went so fast though!!!!!!!

So we'll start with this story:
We went to a visit with one of our people. He wasn't around but his wife and her sister asked if we wanted to talk to them. You know what Preach My Gospel says "talk to everyone", so we went in to their apartment and had an interesting talk. They weren't super bashy but a little. Lots of questions about us, our beliefs, missions, and especially the Book of Mormon! Just the way they talked to us, a little frustrating. I could write a lot about them but three highlights. 1 They thought I was 14-15 and Elder Sayre was 22. 2 They asked if all missionaries were white Americans like us. 3 Elder Sayre and I were both wearing glasses that day so they asked us if all members of our church have glasses.

We had a zone conference. It was really good! We always get good guidance from those. We learned about finding through members. Finding through members is definitely the hardest part of missionary work. So hint hint. Don't be afraid to talk to your non member friends, family, and neighbors. Don't be afraid and pray for help/pray for missionary experiences. Here are some stats from my friend in the mission right next to us. 1/5 member referrals gets baptized v 1/200 people that we meet on the streets get baptized. And ya that's going to be different for different missions, but those states came from Arcadia so right below us.

So we talked to Jennifer about service. And accepting service. So longer story shorter, we got her to accept help learning to drive and getting rides from members.

I went on exchange with Elder Baxley on Thursday! It was like the MTC all over again! We had a lot of lessons!

So Rocío is still good for her baptism this next Saturday!! She asked for all the commandments so she could write them down, review them, and memorize them. She is so cool!! We went to a Thai place for dinner. Kind of expensive but not bad.

We called to confirm a visit and he got mad at me cuz I called him amigo. He's like "amigo is too casual, call me hermano cuz I'm your brother in God'. Haha he was drunk.

There was a big youth conf at the church. So guess where all the extra food went. Yep to us!! We got some good stuff! Tons of fruit and lots of burritos and mucho muffins. It was weird seeing so many youth all together again. One of the speakers just bought a house down the road from my house in Heber. He found my fam in his member tools. He took a selfie with me and he said he would be in Heber the next day and track down my parents. So that was cool! The youth conf was awesome we weren't even at the church for very long but as soon as we were spotted all the white members were loving on us. It was so different than branch members. Love your missionaries everybody! They need it!

We had a viz with one of our people named Eloy. He can't read. He has told us that a lot. He also made sure we knew that he can't speak English. We offered to teach him to read and English. He kinda freaked out on us and said no. It was funny. He always seemed buzzed or hung over when we talked to him. Haha. He is cool though.
