Rejection, Questions, All In One Latino House, And California Screemin

Hey everybody,. Are you ready for a better email than last week. I know it won't be that hard to write a better email than last week. 

OK so quick last week was nothing compared to this week. Brief run down of last week. A lot of rejection:( like I felt a little bit like a missionary in Europe). We had exchanges with the Zonies. I was with Elder Frame in his area. We had a viz it with two sisters who are X JWs. They had a lot of questions. We had a viz with a couple who wasn't expecting us, but they let us in. Their first language is Mixteco so their Spanish was not bad but not what you think of when you think Mexican Spanish. Elder Frame and I went out for Sushi. There's a deal for California rolls on Tuesdays. I've started to like California rolls out here in California. 

So We went to this one house that we had been to a couple times before. We have met 3 different people who have said they lived there. So when we went to the house last week we were looking for 3 different people. Well another guy comes around the back, we ask him if he knows any of these 3 people. He says no. So, what it sounded like there are 4 different dudes and possibly families who live in the same house but don't know each other. Honestly no idea who lives there, there are people going in and out of that house all the time.

This week

This week was INSANE!! An absolute roller coaster!! 

So we had a mission tour. So here's how that went down. Tuesday - Thursday, we had a mission wide zoom meeting each day with President Whiting who is the first councilor in the area presidency and his wife. He's super cool and super funny! His wife is pretty cool as well, we only heard from her one of the days. He had some great advice and laughs for us. Also for the tour part he zoomed into one companionship planning, one district's district council, and did a one on one interview with a reassigned missionary and one originally assigned. Elder Sayre got chosen out of all the reasignies. 

OK here's the next missive thing that happened. At the beginning of the week we put Jenifer on date. The next visit she told us about some health concerns so she was not sure about physically getting in the water. That was a huge blow! For a day or so Elder Sayre and I were trying to figure out what to do. Well we had another visit with her. We told her if she physically could be baptized and wanted to we could make it happen and we could do a baptism just Us two and President if it was a shyness issue, we also told her it was possible that one of us would be transferred out. Well that seemed to seal the deal. She said she didn't want other missionaries so she committed to a baptism with just the 4 of us. Well on Friday she had her interview with President Carter. Long story short. President told us that health problems would be preventing her baptism. So it was our job to get her the help she needed.

 Well we didn't walk away with a baptism, but we saw a HUGE miracle!! President was down here anyway doing some other interviews., because, he interviewed Jenifer, she opened up more to president probably because he's older than us, president is a doctor, and President knows Spanish better. Also there is a mission nurse that we called to get some help/advice for Jenifer. 

So we didn't have a baptism but Jennifer's testimony is very strong! We will get her the help she needs and Elder Sayre and I are staying for this next transfer so we will continue working with her.

So we didn't see a miracle of a baptism, but we saw a big miracle here. God knew what was best for Jenifer. He knew President would be in the area already. Because he was here we were able to figure out more about Jenifer and how to help her. He called Elder Sayre and I to serve here for another transfer, so we can continue to work with and help Jenifer. GOD IS IN THE DETAIL OF OUR LIVES AND THIS Work!!!! What an awesome miracle!! 

Well here's to another good transfer. I love and miss you all!! Thanks for the emails!! They make my day!!
