I'm Out

Good day ladies and gentlemen. Correct, it was another fast week.

Story 1: We were on the street the other day and we went up to this one guy. OK so you know like the sidewalk right? And how it's in between those grass lanes right? You know what I mean? Well you know how sometimes those grass lanes are more dirt than grass? You know what I mean? So this dude is sweeping dirt from those lanes onto the sidewalk and then sweeping it into a dust pan. Your like wait, don't you usually sweep dirt off the sidewalk into those side lane things. Ya that's what I thought. So we tried talking to him. Latinos see me and try to speak English even if they can't. So he's like "uhh I can't" Trying to say he didn't want to talk to us but ya it sounded like I can't speak English. He was a little weird.

So let's talk about the title. We got transfer calls last night. I am............ leaving. I am headed up to Santa Maria! I have never been anywhere except TO/MP so I don't know Santa Maria or what it's like. Elder Parker was just there last transfer and he says it's awesome! So ya vamos a ver. I am so glad I got to serve in this area the last few months. It has been great! I love the members and the leadership. Even though the Latinos can be challenging I'll miss them, but there'll be more in Santa Maria.

So remember last week I talked about finding new people. Well scratch that. Monday night one of them texted us and said she doesn't want to continue with us and she's going to church with her God-parents. SMH. Well. We gave her a chance at salvation, but she delayed it. The others have been a little MIA.
OK update on Jaime. He is someone we found last week. He is AWESOME! He has been responsive and reading in the Book of Mormon! He is doing well. We put him on date last night to be baptized April 17th. Keep him in your prayers. He wants us to start teaching his kids as well!

We were looking for Elfego, one of Jamie's buddies the other day. He lives way out there. Like big high tunnel farms, huge trees shadowing the rd, dirt bike, etc. So Elfego wasn't home. We went and talked to his neighbor. I was getting some Mexico and Philipian vibes from this place. Massive farm, small house, chickens running all around the whole shabang. His name is Paco. Longer story abridged, we started teaching him.

Unfortunately I won't get to continue teaching these people cuz I'll be in Santa Maria, but Elder Ozuna will still be here so he'll teach them with his new comp Elder Holiday.

So I read some absolutely Amazing scriptures and talks this week!!!!!!!! We got scriptures about hope, about faith, about babtizm, about centering the home on God, etc. Honestly I am gaining more and more of an appreciation for the scriptures. They are the word of God. They bring light and invite the spirit. I really have loved studying them. If you are looking for peace and happiness and uplifting feelings I recommend The Book of Mormon, The Bible (New Testament epecialy, read some miracles of Christ), Doctrine and Covenants, and all the scriptures, and of course the words of the modern day prophets and apostles. Here's a list of some amazing things I read this week that I highly recommend to all of you. (of course not everything in the scriptures in unicorns and rainbows. It's a history of real people. Honestly at times it's difficult and sad to read but people aren't perfect now and they weren't back then either, hint that's why we need God and the Teachings of His son Jesus Christ)
