100% American / Ya Right You Don't Have A Phone

What is up everyone? Let me tell you a lil secret.... Time goes fast. I know I say that almost every week but Ya know it must be true. 

Story time

1) We were talking to 2 guys Monday night. We're talking about where we're from. They say Mexico. Elder Ozuna says Utah (his parents are from Mexico). Then I say Utah, and he says "oh haha 100% American". Well Elder Ozuna is from Utah but most of the time when we talk to people only I stick out. Cuz I'm white. Haha. 

2) We were talking to this dude. We ask him for his #. He says he doesn't have a phone. Like a second later mariachi music starts playing. He pulls his phone right out and says it's his GF he needs to take it. 

3) No one thinks I can speak Spanish probably again cuz I'm white and Elder Ozuna fits right in. So the other day we were talking to this lady on her porch. Before we left. We asked if we could leave her with a prayer. Elder Ozuna asks if it's OK if I say it. She looks at me and says. No sé si el habla español'. OK I still don't understand a lot of Spanish and am far from fluent, but I can say a prayer. Come on lady. La jente. 

4) Yesterday, we were waiting for a member to Come drop off some dinner for us. (I think their son) shows up sees that there are 4 of us and is like "oh are all 4 of you eating, I'll be back in like 3 minutes with more food". We go inside with what we have. The other two Elders go back outside to get the rest. They come back in with 4 big macs. A few minutes later they get a txt from the member saying sorry I bought food on Sunday I'll go home and repent. Haha

So the work has been pretty good. We have still been able to talk to people on the streets. That's going well. It's been really tough lately to find people who will progress. Yesterday we only got one person to church. The other three we planned on flaked for the 3rd week in a row. We only got one person cuz we had a leason with him with a member present (which counts during covid) Cuz he said earlier this week that he'd come to church maybe nxt year. So we just had to trick him. We did find some new people to teach this week, but again contact has been pretty terrible with them. We had somebody try to drop us yesterday. But the member helped us save it. One thing that we're gunna start doing again is English classes. We made some flyers and passed them out in a laundromat. They went so fast. Most people are all over English classes. So if it works we'll do it.
