I Met Yoda And Got A Job

So Tuesday was the most windy day probably of my life! Like SOOOO windy! We still had power but most people in Thousand Oaks and Moorpark lost power. California people forget how to drive in any weather. Trees tiped over. Lots of leaves and branches and stuff in the streets. A lot of the smaller markets and stores were out of power. So everyone was at Target buying stuff and looking for battery packs. Also walking around, everyone was in their cars charging there phones. Haha!

Story 1: So we were talking to one dude on the street and we mentioned how windy it was yesterday. He's like "ya it's the most windy it's been in 100 years" we're like "wow you've lived 100 years" he said "ya actualy like 400 I'm Yoda from star wars"

2: This drunk dude kinda got up in my face, he smelled terible

3: we were talking to this one white lady, she's like "ya all of my friends are Mormon... do you miss your mom's". It was a short conversation. We were walking away and then she offered us a Gatorade.

4: so we were in Target trying to talk to some people. This was when most people's power was out. Two ladies within like a minute of each other asked us if we worked there. We said no but we would try and help them find what they needed. They were both looking for some way to charge they're phones cuz as teachers they couldn't work without power.

So here's what's going one with the work
-----------------------------------------------------------
People are very flakey. It has been preaty much imposible to get a hold of people. Whether that is them not answering the pone, them blocking our number or FB, Not being home when we go by their house, or them just not opening the door when we can clearly here them inside. Not just investigators have been doing this this week, but a lot of the members here. It's honestly preaty discouraging. It's been kind of hard this week. There are some members who are so cool and so happy and fired up and supportive of the missionaries. The ones who make us dinner are always so cool. And like one family had a visit with the English elders, a visit with us, and helped out the other Spanish elders with a lesson all this week. So ya there are those awesome members, but there are also members who want all 6 of us to come at the same time. Ugg this has been a hard week.

Transfers
-------------------
So I'm staying in the same area of Moorpark with Elder Ozuna but we're moving back to Thousand Oaks because they're putting a third Spanish companionship here in Moorpark but they're on bikes so they will live in Mooorpark in the apartment that I've been in this last transfer. So we're not living in the same apartment I started in but the same complex in Thousand Oaks. IK interesting right. Also were getting a new car. So well be driving like 15 minutes every day just to get to our work area. Fun stuff. I know the other two elders we will be living with and they're awesome! We just opened this area in Moorpark so this next transfer should pick up a little with the work.

Scripture
----------------
D&c 11:18, 23 (replace "Hyrum" w/ your name and "son" with son/daughter)

Quote
-----------
"El punto es que la fe significa confiar en Dios en los buenos tiempos y en los malos, aunque eso incluya algo de sufrimiento hasta que veamos Su brazo revelarse a nuestro favor. Aquello puede ser difícil en nuestro mundo moderno, cuando muchos han llegado a creer que el mayor bien de la vida es evitar todo sufrimiento, y que nadie debe angustiarse por nada. Pero esa creencia jamás nos conducirá a “la medida de la estatura de la plenitud de Cristo”.
Presidente Nelson
