The Popo Are Out To Get You

1 On Wednesday I was on an exchange with Elder Kjar. His area is biking only, so ya I had to ride a bike. Not one of my strengths but that's OK it was alright. We were (on bikes) going around a neighborhood knocking on doors of people who had investigated the church in the past (that's still all we can do cuz of covid, no door to door). So anyway we go up to this one house, knock on the door. Some dude answered. We asked him if so and so was home. He looked at us for a sec. He said so and so was working. We told him we were the missionaries. He's like oh OK I thought you were the cops with your blinking red light on your bikes (cuz it was pretty dark). So you he thought we were cops looking for so and so.
2 On Tuesday I was on an exchange with Elder Krinkel. We were doing some FB calling. Someone answered and said they were having a pastor over on Friday to teach him about Jesus and The Bible. OK a little context for this next answer. I had a conversation with her prior to this call in English. OK so she answered and started freaking out that she didn't know us. She's like "I don't know you, who are you, what do you want"! (In English) We told her we were the missionaries. She's like " uhh OK I don't speak very good English". So in Spanish I asked if she spoke Spanish. She's like "Uhh ya uhh I don't know you ahh" and hung up.
3 Saturday night we had a member dinner, but the member was out of town, so they bought us Toppers Pizza and we just went to pick it up and ate in our apt. So after we are the pizza, the zone leader gave Elder Ogden and I a little gift. A Chile de Árbol (Look it up). They said they were in Moorpark that day and saw a bush with these Chiles growing. They said we had to eat it for initiation into the mission. Well, IT WAS SO Hot! Luckily it didn't last supper long but it was rough. We drank a lot of milk, which didn't sit so well with me the rest of the night.
Here's some cool missionary stuff
Saturday night (while my mouth was nice and toasty) we stopped by someone's house who we dropped a while ago. He said he broke up with his girlfriend so now we might be able to start teaching him again.
In total we started teaching 3 new people. Yaaaa! Guess what! So one of them Fabricio, we started teaching on Thursday. We met with him Friday, and Saturday we put him on date to be babtized on December 13th! YAAAAA! We also started teaching Maria and Antonio. We also talked with someone on their doorstep who we might be able to start teaching soon.
Yesterday we met with Leo, Juan, and Edwardo (all have been baptized this month) and the missionaries who baptized Edwardo. We all went to Brother Bakers house to take the sacrament (Our church went back to only zoom) It was soo cool! We watched President Nelson's message of hope. We talked about and shared testimonies of the importance of the sacrament. It was a very cool experience! The three new members are solid. I personally baptized one of them. Another one is someone we taught and the other I saw his whole progression and his baptizm. Wow spirit was present and strong!
I hope you all have a great week! Thanks for the emails I love reading them.!
Love you all!
