Get A Life
So Elder Ogden and I were walking in the park the other day and some dude points us us and says "hey you guys get a life" haha. He was a member from our stake. He was interesting. We also saw him the next day at the church (his ward meets at 10 ours at 12). He told us we were going to hell. I'm not sure if he was trying to be funny or what. Even members are kinda weird. Anyway at that same park, we talked to a guy playing his guitar. Elder Ogden had talked with him before. He was cool. We got his number and set up a time to meet in the park and play the guitar. He wants me to show him something musical. Cuz I told him I was in the jazz band and I play drums. I'm really not that musical. OK back to church. Jaime and Edward came. That was awesome! Right as the meeting was getting started, a member whispered to Elder Ogden and I that she fell, hurt (maybe broke) her finger. She asked if we could give her a blessing. Right after we did, she said she felt a little better. Wow it's such a privilege and a faith builder to do that. I'm a firm believer in priesthood power.
All 4 of us decided to walk into Walmart without a mask. Not only did no one freak out at us but people were nice to us. Wwoooouuuuwww.
This week went really fast! So our new neighbor is hilarious! So the other night, he knocked on our door right after we ate dinner. We were leaving. He knocks and says he's coocking dinner at 6. We told him we had some visits tonight. He said when we got home that night he would have food for us. That night he had some amazing fish, steak, & shrimp for us. He was so funny. He was drunk and like swearing in English and Spanish. Haha the next day he knocked on our door at lunch and gave us the rest of the shrimp. A minute later knocks again and gives us a chicken salad.
As a district we have found 19 new people to teach! Elder Ogden and I found 4. That's such a miracle. The Lord is in this work. He loves all of His children. I'm proud to be helping in His work to spread His word. Being a missionary is amazing. It's so fulfilling to start teaching someone new. Like Nester, Elder Ogden was just texting him on FB. He said he was going through some hard times, so we just video called him right then. It's amazing to see the progress people make, or to see the light in they're eyes in a lesson.
We put Jaime on date for Oct 31st. Juan is being babtized on Sunday!
Anyway, love you all. Miss you all. Thanks for all the emails. They really mean a lot to me. I'm doing my best with responding. But I read them through the week. They help keep me going.
