Basher And Memories
Wow, another fast week! I feel like a lot happened.
This week it started getting cooler. Like I mostly wore my long sleeve shirts this week. Then this morning was kinda chilly. This morning we went out to go shopping and it really did feel like Halloween season back at home. Like a cool October morning in Heber where I'd usually be outside or in the garage building or setting up Halloween decorations. We walked in to Walmart and the song "spooky" was playing. We played that song in Jazz band once about this time Halloween season. I also heard it in Home Depot when my dad and I were shopping for Halloween decorations like 2 years ago. Wow, just going to Walmart brought back the most memories from home that I've had in 3 months here in California.
Anyway, so the other day Elder Ogden and I were in the park we sat down on a bench to make a call. We looked over at this family on a bench across from us. The girl probably 7 stands up and like speed walks over to us. She starts with "I believe in Jesus..." and blah blah blah. "In my Bible says if you add to it you're going to hell". "if the end of the world was tomorrow would you go to Heaven or hell?" Seriously she was probably 7 or 8. So her parents are just grooming her to be a basher. When she walked back to her parents, Elder Ogden heard her say to her mom "they were so smart".
COOL FINDING STORIES:
--------------------------—--- ---------
1: So the other day we decided to just video call everyone on FB who was active that we had previously had a conversation with. So most of them didn't answer, but one lady did. I was messaging her back in August. She's going through some hard time so if you could pray for Natalie.
2: So we went to Moorpark to do some Juan-tracking - basicly walking in this Mexican neighborhood talking to whoever was outside (cause we can't knock doors) asking where Juan lives. First guy shut us down. Ooof. Next guy was like ya I got some time right now. So we shared a little message right then. Pray for Rigo.
We had Zone conference. That was good.
Here's a funny/sadish story for you. So we where teaching our friend Maria the other day the gospel of Jesus Christ. We got to baptism. Elder Ogden asked if she had been baptized before. She said twice. Once as a niña in México (Catholic) and the she's like, "ya and once like 30 yrs ago in uhh ohhys I just remembered the Mormon church. Ahh palm to the face. We're like you where baptized in our church?" ya" so missionaries taught you back in Fillmore "ya" so you're a member of our church "ya". Wow OK first off how do you forget that and 2nd who were the missionaries who taught her before like she she was very knowledgeable but she also thought there was a book of Joseph Smith in the Book of Mormon. So hopefully we can start teaching her soon.
I tried some of Elder Ogdens máte on Tuesday morning. Uuuhh not good.
We met with Saulo again Wednesday morning. We wanted to put him on date but he got so far off topic. He told us again how hard English was and how easy Spanish is. No Saulo. He also kept repeating things. Wow gotta love him. He's funny.
So I would say my testimony has grown that God loves each of His children so much. Our findings really show me that. Also patience. We found a little this week but didn't have many visits with investigators or members this week. So that felt kinda slow. It's crazy how something like that was kinda slow but this week still was so full and so fast.
I love being a missionary. Some times are hard and discouraging, but you also feel full and happy!
Sorry this email is kinda long a lot happened this week.
Thanks for the emails I love to read them. Love and miss you all!
